With BRUT NATURE, DESIGNERCARPETS STUDIO combines the art of winemaking and carpet weaving to create a harmonious interplay of colors and textures. The name BRUT NATURE stands for the originality and clarity that are reflected in both the design and the production of the carpet: minimalist design, natural local yarns and inspiration from the world of winemaking.

Wine and Carpet – Craftsmanship in Dialogue

"Craftsmanship is something fascinating, it creates the basis for creativity and offers almost limitless possibilities. It combines centuries-old traditions, high-quality materials, passion and vision," explains Annique Drechsle. Her love of craftsmanship and nature is not only evident in the current collection, but also in her affinity for regional wineries. "The natural oak barrels, the magical charisma of old vaulted cellars, the deep burgundy red of Pinot Noir, the dead-straight rows of vines in the landscape, uncompromising natural handcraft." These influences are noticeable in BRUT NATURE. It consists mainly of natural nettle yarn, which grows locally in Nepal. Fine accents of burgundy-colored Himalayan sheep's wool yarn give the design depth and elegance and are reminiscent of the rows of vines. The product is manufactured in close cooperation with Nepalese artisans who masterfully implement the traditional Soumak knotting technique. "It was important to me to further develop the technology without losing the original character of the carpet. We worked together on this project for more than five months," says Drechsle. The attention to detail is also evident in the artistically designed finishes, which give the carpet a special touch. The subtle yet expressive design goes perfectly with natural floors and fits effortlessly into dining rooms, bedrooms or living rooms. Even barefoot, the carpet becomes a tactile experience and invites you to enjoy the high-quality handcraft with all your senses.

Handmade unique pieces

The carpet is produced in Kathmandu : Here the nettle yarn and sheep's wool are hand-spun and made row by row according to Tibetan knotting tradition. Since each carpet is individually made, the size, shape and color combination can be freely chosen. "The high quality of our products is extremely important to us," emphasizes Stefan Drechsle, owner of DESIGNERCARPETS • DRECHSLE: "Everything we do, we do with great passion and enthusiasm: for the individual product, for the high-quality production and for the competent people who make our carpets. This is done with great appreciation, which we are happy to pass on to our customers. Because they do not receive a short-lived product, but a product that is valid for life." This can be felt in every fibre: The passion for traditional craftsmanship combined with innovative design, a very high level of quality awareness and a pronounced customer focus are just as much a part of the brand values of the Lörrach family business as transparent manufacturing processes, fair trade, social commitment and respectful and mindful cooperation.
