Sonnhild Kestler's signature style is unmistakable: Her designs tell stories characterized by craftsmanship, tradition, and timeless aesthetics. In Art Room I at the Teufelhof in Basel, she not only harmonizes the walls, carpets, and furniture, but also creates a spatial experience that inspires and moves in equal measure—subtle, powerful, and rich in loving detail. Her working method is as unique as the result: Kestler consciously relies on traditional techniques and analogue processes. Her designs are not created on a computer, but rather in an interplay of hand-mixed paints, silhouettes, and paper collages.
